Privacy policy
Pixday · Effective 5 November 2026
In short
- Your journal is stored on your phone. Nothing leaves it unless you turn on cloud sync (Premium) or share or export something yourself.
- There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking in Pixday, and your data is never sold.
- You can download everything we hold about you, and delete your account and its data, from inside the app.
Who we are
Pixday is made and published by Daniyel Gamit, an individual developer in India, trading as Jessy Craft Studio ("we", "us"). We decide how the personal data described here is used, so we're responsible for it (the "data fiduciary" under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the "controller" under the EU and UK GDPR).

What stays on your phone
Everything you put in Pixday is saved in a private database on your phone: your mood entries, activities, notes, photos and voice memos, energy and stress levels, check-ins and gratitude, habits, goals, workouts, sleep, water and medication logs, important days and your settings.
- Your PIN is stored only as a salted, one-way hash and never leaves the phone.
- Dictation uses your phone's own speech recognition, set to work on the device. Recordings and text are not sent to us.
- Reminders are scheduled by your phone; we don't send them from a server.
- The home-screen widget shows today's status, and nothing personal while the PIN lock is on.
- Android device backup: Pixday excludes its data from Google's automatic cloud backup. Some phones still copy it in a direct phone-to-phone transfer.
Pixday never reads your location, contacts or advertising ID.
Data we receive, and why
| When | What | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You create an account (optional) | Your email address. With "Continue with Google": your name, email address and profile picture from Google. | To sign you in, and to email you one-time sign-in codes. |
| You turn on cloud sync (Premium) | A copy of your journal as described above, including photos and voice memos, and your settings. Not your PIN, and not focus sounds you added yourself. | To keep your journal backed up and the same on all your devices. |
| You buy Premium or start a trial | Purchase details from Google Play or the App Store (product, dates, renewal state) and an ID that links them to your account. We never see your payment card. | To unlock Premium on your devices and keep it in step with the store. |
| You open the crisis helplines | The country you choose. | To show helplines for that country. Your journal is never included. |
| You email us | Your email address and what you write. | To answer you. |
We rely on your consent for these (you can withdraw it at any time, as described under "Your choices") and, for Premium, on the contract between us.
Health Connect and Apple Health
If you connect Health Connect (Android), Pixday reads, with your permission: sleep sessions, steps, and, if you also allow them, distance, active calories burned and workouts. Apple Health on iPhone isn't available yet; when it is, the same rules apply.
- Pixday only reads. It never writes to Health Connect.
- It uses this data only to show your sleep and activity in the app and how they relate to your mood.
- What's imported is stored on your phone. It goes to your account only if cloud sync is on, like the rest of your journal.
- It is never used for advertising, never sold, never given to data brokers, and never used to decide on credit, insurance or employment.
- You can take back access at any time in Health Connect. What was already imported stays in your journal until you delete it.
Pixday's use of information received from Health Connect adheres to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Who processes data for us
We use a few service providers. They may only use your data to provide their service to us.
| Provider | What for | Data |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Accounts, cloud sync and storage of synced photos and voice memos | Account details; your synced journal |
| Brevo | Sending sign-in code emails | Your email address |
| "Continue with Google"; purchases on Google Play | Sign-in and purchase details | |
| RevenueCat | Keeping Premium in step with the app stores | Purchase details and an account ID; not your journal |
| Apple | Purchases on the App Store (iPhone, when available) | Purchase details |
| Cloudflare | This website, and forwarding email sent to support@ | Standard web request data; your emails to us |
These providers may store data outside India, including in the United States, Europe or Australia. They protect it with security measures and, where the law requires, contractual safeguards.
How your data is protected
- Everything sent between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), and stored encrypted at rest by Supabase.
- Your synced records and files can only be read by your own account; the database enforces this on every request.
- You can lock the app with a PIN and your fingerprint or face; the app switcher then hides your journal.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal data, we'll tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
How long we keep it
- On your phone: until you delete it in the app, erase the app's data or uninstall it.
- In your account: until you delete the account. Deleting it removes your synced journal and files from our database straight away; copies in our provider's routine backups are overwritten as those backups expire.
- Purchase records: as long as the stores and tax law require.
- Support emails: as long as needed to help you, then deleted.
Your choices and rights
- See and take your data: Profile → Account → "Download my data" (everything on our servers), or Backup & restore → "Export backup file" (everything on your phone), or Export (CSV or PDF).
- Correct it: edit anything in the app.
- Delete it: Profile → Account → "Delete account", and Backup & restore → "Delete all data" for your phone.
- Withdraw consent: turn off cloud sync or Health Connect at any time, or sign out. This doesn't affect what was done before.
- Nominate someone (India) to exercise these rights if you die or can't do so yourself: email us.
- Complain: write to us first (below). In India you can then approach the Data Protection Board of India; in the EU or UK, your local data protection authority.
For anything you can't do in the app, email support@jessycraftstudio.com. We may need to confirm it's you before acting.
Children
Pixday is meant for adults. If you're under 18, please use it only with a parent's or guardian's permission. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children; if you believe a child has created an account, email us and we'll delete it.
Not medical advice
Pixday helps you notice patterns in your mood. It isn't a medical device and doesn't diagnose or treat anything. If you're in crisis, contact local emergency services or one of the helplines listed in the app.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use data you've already given us, we'll tell you in the app before it applies.
